I am a terrible packer. Especially when it comes to packing for a flight. When it comes to a road trip you can just keep throwing more stuff in your bag and putting more bags in the car. Not so easy when it comes to flying. Your bags can only weigh so much. Your carry on can only be so big. You can only have so much liquids and gels. It's exhausting having to keep up with the rules. And I'm also trying to keep in mind how I will want to pack for traveling after my time in Spain is over. It is hard to think about traveling for two or three weeks with just a small duffel and a backpack. I just have so. much. stuff. And I promise I'm trying to pack light and go without. But there are some things that you kind of have to have. I think it will all work out. I just hope I'll have some room to bring back some souvenirs!
But really I believe I have most everything packed already. Just a few more things to throw together. And then the checklist that I will have to go over a dozen times. I'm sure I'll never feel totally ready. But I'm trying not to focus on all of the what ifs and how things could go wrong. I want to focus instead on how amazing this experience is going to be. There's a lot of things to freak out about. But there's a lot of things to look forward to as well.
Now I'm just going to be hoping and praying that all the airport stuff goes smoothly and that I arrive at my new "casa" without any trouble. Only two more days in the states now. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. And I'm sure it will go just as fast in Spain.
