I wish I had been able to do more on this first weekend in Spain, but I just didn't really feel up to it. It was nice to sleep in again today but I still feel like I could have slept a lot longer. But I had to get up so I could meet Emily and go to mass. We went to the church of the magdalena I think it was called. And of course like all of the other churches here it was very ornately decorated and it was really cold inside. After mass we went to a pizza place and I was able to eat one small piece of pizza. After that we went to this nearby plaza and just sat in the sun and watched people go by with their dogs and their strollers and their little girls in matching outfits. I feel like all of the little kids here are dressed really well.
That was really basically all we did. I have been back at the house for awhile trying to just rest some more because my stomach is still pretty upset. I don't know if it's a touch of the flu or if all the different food is just not agreeing with me, but whatever the case may be I was really not in the best shape this weekend. I haven't had much of an appetite either, especially for the big meals they eat here for dinner. I would be satisfied with the soup or the meat dish by itself, but no. They have both. Plus bread, maybe a salad and then some fruit for desert. I just don't think my stomach is handling it very well. And right now I am just hoping that this will not be the way things are during the whole trip.
Well, we'll have dinner shortly. And I'm glad that the other girls are back for that. Then I will probably be off to bed shortly after so I can hopefully feel up to the full week of classes ahead of me.
