friday

It's friday!  Finally!

Didn't want to get up this morning.  Was sad thinking about how I would have to get up early tomorrow morning and probably sunday morning too.  But I'm sure Granada will be worth it.  Grammar class was boring and I hardly even remember what we did.  I think it was just using phrases to describe things though.  The second part of the morning was interesting though because we walked over to this market across the river and did a little worksheet to write about things we saw and heard and such.  It was kind of cool seeing all of the different products for sale.  The meat stands were kind of scary though because there were nasty heads of animals with the eyes still in them and dead rabbits hanging from the ceiling.  It was pretty gross.  And the aisle where all the fish stands were did not smell the greatest.  But all in all I think it was better than having to sit in the classroom for and hour and forty minutes.

The afternoon class consisted of finishing our discussion of animals.  Our teacher takes a french class at the school in the afternoon and the teacher for that class I guess said that yesterday was a special day and one of the american students in the class was like oh yeah it's groundhog day.  The teacher meant it was a special day in france...but it was groundhog day.  I had forgotten until I saw it mentioned on facebook. Though I don't remember seeing whether he saw his shadow or not.  So we had to explain to our teacher today what groundhog day is.  That was interesting.  Then we moved on from animals and talked about spanish customs and culture and such.  Which was kind of interesting and some things are pretty different from the way we do things here.

After class we used the internet at the school a bit and then we went in search of cold weather clothes because it is supposed to be really cold in granada this weekend.  We didn't find any hats that matched what we wanted but we did find some gloves that were cheap and simple.  Then we came back to the house to watch a couple episodes of next great baker.  Dinner was really good.  It was some kind of pasta and the potato thing that I'm pretty sure they call a tortilla of some kind.  And now I need to throw together some things to take with me for the weekend since it is an overnight trip.  And I need to get some sleep.  Because 7:15 is going to come way too soon.
