A beautiful, beautiful, blue sky and sunshine day in Sevilla, the way I’ll always remember the city. I had forgotten I was eating lunch instead of dinner so I had to warm it up when I got back from meeting Emily since it was ready about the same time I was leaving. But we decided to enjoy the sunshine for a bit and got fro-yo and sat and ate it under las setas like we did a couple of weeks ago. I would have liked to watch some processions that afternoon because they all sounded like they were supposed to be pretty cool, but no I spent the afternoon packing. It was terrible. I had to try so many times to get everything to fit. And I had to eliminate some stuff as I went. And then I borrowed a scale from R and J to see if my bag was under the 23kg or 51lb limit. Kind of concerning that it was coming up to 22.5kg. Stress. Just barely making it. And I knew my carry-on was over the weight limit but I thought the odds of them weighing it weren’t that great so I didn’t really care. But when that was all done it was on to making sure all the final accommodations were set for our trip and that I knew what we needed to do to get to and from airports and such the next day. More stress. But I was pretty sure I had everything figured out. And then it was off to easter vigil mass at gran poder. We thought it might draw a crowd so we wanted to be early. But I was there unnecessarily early and there was no line and the doors weren’t open so I just sat out in the plaza there and people watched and soaked up some final bits of sevilla. Mass was nice and the paso with the gran poder statue was front and center with the altar down in front of it and all sorts of candles. It was really really beautiful. By the time mass was over it was about 1 and then it was definitely time to go back to the house and get some sleep. My last night sleeping in that bed in my little room with its odd window lights that only work sometimes. I’m going to miss it.
