When the audience was over we went back to the hotel to drop off all the stuff we had brought with us to be blessed and also to change into clothes we didn’t mind getting wet as it looked like it was going to rain. Unfortunately, the elevator was broken which meant walking up 7 flights of stairs to get to our room. As if we weren’t already doing plenty of walking. But we got through it and I think it was fixed by the time we left again. We stopped at a little cafeteria type restaurant to get a slice of pizza, it’s totally acceptable to have pizza for every meal when your in Italy, right? And then we were off to do some more sightseeing.
First stop was the Spanish steps again. We got some good pics since there weren’t as many people around with it raining on and off. Then we got stuck chillin in the doorway of the prada store I think it was as we watched a downpour going on around us. But it did let up before to long and we set off for the pantheon. This time it was open and we got to see inside. It’s so cool seeing all of the churches set up for easter. All the flowers are just so pretty. And we got to see plenty of churches today.
After the pantheon we went to the church where saint Catherine of siena is buried and saw her tomb which was awesome. We also went to the church of st Ignatius and there were some tombs of saints I’ve never heard of, but it was really pretty. We also stopped in this pretty little chapel that I don’t even know the name of. Then we visit a church that had gesu somewhere in the name. It had the hand of saint Francis Xavier in it which was kind of cool. And it was just huge and beautiful like just about all the churches in rome. We went to another church after that which might have been called saint luigi but I’m really not sure. Apparently there’s some really famous art in there, but I don’t really know anything about art. It was pretty though… The last church of the day was St. Andrew which was very big and really pretty. There was a grave of a saint there as well, but once again I’m not sure who it was.
After all of our church hopping it was time for dinner. We decided to celebrate our last night in Rome by going out to a restaurant the hotel recommended to get some Italian pasta. I got penne arrabbiata which I might have spelled wrong but all you need to know is that it was delicious.
And just like that our trip to Rome was over and it was time to repack, ugh, and get ready for the next adventure – London!
