Well, holy Thursday was a fail. The on and off rain meant none of the brotherhoods went out. We were starting to despair and were really disappointed at the thought that the rain might also affect the overnight processions. But by some miracle the rain stayed clear of the city from about midnight to noon or so, just long enough for all of the processions to go. And these are the really big ones so it was pretty important that they got to go. It was a long, long night, but so cool. We saw the Macarena in the duque at like 3 and then gran poder as it was entering the basilica at 7 and then esperanza de triana after the sun had come up and as it was making it’s way back toward the bridge. It was a long night as I said and actually pretty cold too. But it was worth it. When I got back to the house it was about 10am and I had some breakfast before going up to bed. But before long I was called down to lunch. Then it was time to be checking to see whether the Friday afternoon processions would get to go or not.
